GREVAGÅRDEN

Grevagården
The magnificent Wachtmeister Palace or Grevagården and its garden were built between 1703 and 1705. One of King Karl XI’s closest men,  Admiral General Hans Wachtmeister and his wife Sophia Lovisa von Aschebergs, built the city palace.

The two yews that stand out on the garden plateau may be from the garden’s origins. The foundation of today’s baroque garden dates back to 1970 and to garden architect Sven A Hermelin.

The courtyard around the palace is like an oasis in the centre of Karlskrona. This is where you come to reinvigorate yourself and to relax or to get a look at the plants.. There are plenty of tables and benches available, or else you can sit on the green grass.

The Grevagrundet playground stirs the imagination and is a great place for children to play.

The garden is open Tuesday to Saturday.
